I offer individual, couple and family therapy as well as parent-coaching with standard session lengths of either 45 or 60 minutes, determined by client preference. Longer session lengths can be arranged and are often helpful for EMDR trauma processing. I provide consultation sessions for those seeking guidance about beginning treatment or for evaluating a current or recommended treatment plan, which can be particularly helpful in the treatment of eating disorders where there are several options for treatment at various levels of care. Additionally, I offer multiple hour intensives for couples and families for whom weekly therapy is not feasible or when a more intensive intervention is desired.
Depending on client needs, I integrate several therapeutic modalities including an attachment-focused and trauma-informed perspective, mindfulness, Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), ecopsychology and nature connection, Family-based Treatment (FBT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), psychodynamic, ego state therapy, somatic, transpersonal, humanistic and interpersonal approaches and Bowen Family Systems. I consider the significance of socio-cultural-historical context, gender, sexual orientation and spirituality in working with clients. Open collaboration and respect for clients' perspectives is of high value. I also make recommendations for adjunctive treatment with other health and wellbeing professionals when appropriate.
